Global real estate franchise Remax draws attention for its trust-based, exclusive brokerage system.
According to the results of a recent investigation announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, 321 out of 1,100 real estate advertisements were found to be false or exaggerated during a five-week inspection of 10 major university districts nationwide, starting on July 21.
This survey was conducted in 10 areas with a high proportion of young people, including Cheongryong-dong in Gwanak-gu, Seoul; Hwayang-dong in Gwangjin-gu; Sinchon-dong in Seodaemun-gu; Anam-dong in Seongbuk-gu; and Sageun-dong in Seongdong-gu; as well as Yuseong-gu in Daejeon; Geumjeong-gu and Nam-gu in Busan; and Suwon-si in Gyeonggi-do.
Looking at the types of violations, more than half involved exaggerating the exclusive area or listing non-existent options, and there were also many cases where properties that had already been contracted were not deleted or essential information such as management fees and transaction amounts were omitted.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is currently notifying local governments of 321 cases of false and exaggerated advertisements and is currently taking administrative action. It also plans to strengthen the continuous monitoring system targeting online platforms and social media to establish a sound real estate transaction order.
