If you choose the wrong real estate agent, you will feel more exhausted than you actually are during the transaction.

They repeatedly call, saying, "If you miss this opportunity, it'll be difficult to make a deal," urging you to make a decision. Once you sign a contract, they'll call you again. They'll ask you to slightly lower the terms, do this, adjust that. Requests that should have been addressed during the contract process end up as after-the-fact requests, ultimately placing the burden on the buyer. This attitude of wanting to just make a deal today only makes the transaction more uncomfortable.

These problems often stem from differences in affiliation and preparedness rather than individual inclinations. Mediation isn't simply about closing a deal. It's about understanding the transaction structure, clearly dividing roles and responsibilities between the parties, and mediating to prevent unnecessary conflict.

It is difficult to establish standards for what should be explained first, how far the role of mediation extends, and which demands should be drawn from the beginning through experience alone.

Real estate agents are in the service industry.

If you think a deal is a one-time deal, you might be tempted to just let it slide. However, real estate transactions are often evaluated over time. A brokerage that seemed flawless at the time of signing can later become a source of dispute, and that memory lingers in your reputation. It's only natural that you end up with a broker you never return to.

So, brokers must learn: how to treat clients, what values are most important in a transaction, what attitude to adopt as a broker. These are not innate qualities, but rather learned skills. Pride in brokerage also stems from having standards and a philosophy.

This is why Remax's agents consistently handle large transactions and complex contracts. Contracts worth tens, hundreds, or even hundreds of billions of won cannot be handled by intuition. They require expertise to understand the structure, explain risks, and persuade multiple stakeholders. This is the foundation of repetitive education and training.

Adding to this is time. It's not a one-time transaction, but the value of a brand built over decades. A culture that prioritizes long-term trust over short-term results naturally reflects this in the way we broker. This is why, rather than rushing to close a deal, we prioritize ensuring there are no lingering issues afterward.

Ultimately, the differences in brokerage are not accidental. Education and training, along with the standards and attitudes built upon them, determine the quality of transactions. The comfort customers feel is the result.
